Contemporary Offices
The building embodies the urban energy of its context, whilst simultaneously acknowledging the sensitivity of the precinct and streetscape. The lillian Ngoyi street facing elevation of the proposed design included a wrap-around veranda element to continue the language of the veranda houses, in particular the house on the opposite corner of Silver rd. The elevation also has depth and detail which preserves the residential scale of the building, and harmonises with the historical veranda houses. Non-stylistic attributes such as scale, massing, materials, relationship to the street, etc link the proposed design to the existing fabric of Windermere / Lillian Ngoyi rd.
